I can’t believe my little girl has been on the earth for one whole year already! Last month we celebrated her first birthday! It’s no secret that we had a rough start to life and I have talked about that here. But now it’s like she’s a whole different person! She loves laughing at me and her dad, but she reserves the biggest laughs for her big brother. She is also developing quite the personality! We used to think that her brother was going to be the happy one and she would be more reserved, but she is proving us wrong.
My baby girl’s first birthday was definitely not something that I was going to take lightly. I knew that I needed to document this as it’s such an important time in all of our lives, and I wanted to remember every single second! The only person I would trust to take pictures of her is one of my friends, Maiko Media. We went to high school together and went to colleges a couple hours apart. She has taken pictures of pretty much all the important events in my life with the exception of my wedding, because she was in it.
The first thing I went searching for, that she absolutely needed, was a tutu of course! I love buying from handmade shops, so when I came across Tutus for Bear Bottoms, I knew this was what she needed. The owner was great to work with. When I finally got her birthday romper, I showed her pictures and she help me figure out what color I wanted. I ultimately decided on plain pink, but boy of boy I was thinking about all sorts of things before then. My husband was wondering why it took me so long to decide on an all pink tutu! This tutu is soft, and I absolutely love the length of it. This will definitely not be the last tutu we get from Tutus for Bear Bottoms.
The next thing I had been dreaming of getting her for her first birthday was a teepee. Teepees have become super popular lately, so there were so many shops to choose from. When I laid my eyes on this all white teepee from Katahdin Nooks, I realized this would be perfect for my baby. This teepee has white poms lining the door opening and the back panel is made completely of lace. It’s perfect. Can you believe it’s handmade? The sweet family is also saving up for adoption, which definitely made me want to purchase a teepee from them.
The crown, the gold glittler B, and the tassel garland are all from Soiree Love. Her romper was custom made by the romper queen at The Baby Bird Boutique.
